Title: Process Management and Optimization for Simulation

Abstract: While BPM, or Business Process Management, represents a rising priority across most disciplines and industries, product development in the manufacturing sector in the U.S. has made relatively little, and painfully slow, progress. In simulation, part of the challenge may relate to the deep complexity at the detail task level often involving algorithmic development that still requires additional research and development to provide reusable templates for automation. Still, high level process management has been broadly applied across other sectors that tracks I/O flows, dependencies, and adds metrics. The deep specialization in analysis, however, may have slowed efforts to establish a common language, or a reference model, that may be applied across disciplines to drive consensus. Leading vendors join us to assess current trends, and the potential for accelerating progress in the future.
